Custom Designed Bird Habitats
An African Grey
Parrot is not your typical family pet. It's a highly
intelligent creature with a life span of fifty years or
more. Ted was hired by a client in Elgin, Illinois dedicated to their grey.
This parrot was a member of their family.
In
talking with his client, Ted knew he had to produce
a bird house where the bird could see his family
from any location within his housing. And, as the
family knew, and Ted discovered through his research
on the species, greys can have trouble living in a
round cage. |
They are prone
to neurotic behaviors and require a corner to view around.
Sounds unusual but with this in mind, Ted and his wife,
Stephany, custom designed the bird habitat seen in the above
photo.
This is no
ordinary metal bird cage: fourteen feet from ceiling to it's tip,
made with steel and Plexiglas so the grey had a 360
degree view with corners, stainless wire meshing,
sliding galvanized trays designed for easy cleaning, all
providing specific ventilation requirements for the grey.
The family was indeed more than satisfied with the finished
habitat and appreciated all the research and detailed study
that went into the custom designed iron work.
